Spittin' image, I tell you. Every time he smiles at me this way, it makes me laugh cause he looks just like Wallace from Wallace and Gromit. You can't tell me there isn't a striking similarity! It's kinda creepy, huh? I love my little Wallace.
Diego is, of course, soccer crazy and he hasn't seen his team, Boca Juniors, in over 6 years. So when the COPA Panamericana tour came through Phoenix, we were there. It was the Boca Junior from Argentina (in blue) against Club America from Mexico (in yellow). 
We abandoned any thought of finding our correct seats and just went straight for the place where all the Boca Jr fans were congregating.
My BIG drummer boy. Someone was playing quite terribly and without heart so I suggested Diego give it a go. It wasn't that arbitrary. He does have experience. 
This was the scoreboard at the end of the game. Boca Juniors WIN! That one goal was scored early on in the game, but it doesn't matter... Argentina WINS!
This was my first professional soccer game and I loved it. It was kind of amazing to watch all the physics in action. You know, a force will continue in the same direction unless acted upon by another force. It was interesting to watch how they could slow a flying ball down with the side of their leg or with their heads. They don't just let it hit their heads... they go after it!
Diego Totally Wins! So it was about to be my birthday, see, and I was testing Diego to see if he would remember. I'm mean like that. The guy's almost got no chance, right? WRONG! Diego totally wins! So he rolled over first thing this morning and says happy birthday. That was enough right there - first thing, didn't have to remember about it. But no, he rolls over again and hands me a gift certificate to get a pedicure. Not only does he remember, he's got a good idea of what I want as well. But then, I go to work and there are flowers and a balloon waiting for me. See, Diego totally wins...
Everyone been asking me how married life is. It's great. It's very normal. I'm surprised. I expected a much bigger adjustment. Maybe because I am older and I've lived more of my life and I don't feel like I'm giving anything up. I gaining, if anything. It's the best. In the right stage of your life, I HIGHLY recommend it. Especially when you come home to these babies on your 1-month anniversary! They must be at least 2 ft long! And, they're gorgeous. Just like my honey thinks I am. Yeah!
It isn't the best picture but at least it represents! The Police. Touring with Sting. Wow! I was afraid they'd throw in a bunch of Sting hits (and I don't really like solo Sting) but they didn't. It was great, hardcore Police hits. Much happiness!
I am SOOO happy that Karla gets to be as happy as I am! And I'm SOOO glad that I don't have to feel like I abandoned her anymore. And... I'm SOOO glad I got to take their engagement pictures and I get to do their wedding too. Taylor and Karla Jimenez!
Day 1
We spent to afternoon in Jackson, Wyoming tooling around the city and then into the Grand Tetons. I fell in love with those mountains. It was like the Great Wall when I went to China, every time I turned around they looked different. This is my favorite view, though. We thought is was a lake at first but it's actually the Snake River.
Today was the only day we actually got off the beaten path. We hiked around Jenny Lake up to Hidden Falls. If we ever go back we're going to spend alot more time hiking short trails and disappearing from the road.
There wasn't always someone available to take a picture of the 2 of us so we learned to take advantage when there was.
DAY 2
The hot pots at West Thumb. Smells like sulfur. Their interiors are acutally quite spectacular. Too bad you can't get a better look. The water is toxic and lethal hot.
Old Faithful Geyser. Truthfully, a little bit of a buzz kill. I suppose that's true of any overly touted tourist attraction. We rested for a bit in the Old Faithful Inn. We stayed outside the park and we like our accommodations (and the steak sandwiches) but I recommend staying within the park and maybe even hopping hotels so you don't have to use as much time driving.
DAY 3
Up to Mammoth. This place is fascinating to me. I don't understand it. I mean, I read all the literature about how it happens scientifically but still how it forms such perfect, straight lines is beyond me.
The trees had such personality! I found myself taking pictures of the creepy, barren trees that looked like they would uproot at any moment and come to life - like in a haunted forest. I bet this place is eerie at night.
That's a black bear over our shoulders. We saw a grizzly the first night. It just walked across the street right in front of our car literally to get to the other side. Huh. We all the way from the south to the north entrance today. In total, not counting the flight to Idaho Falls, we drove over 1100 miles!
I love when it looks like the sky is on fire...

In reality, we decided to take our wedding photos the morning before and I cannot stress how glad I was for that decision. Less stress, less heat, less people. I recommend it. So I had to get my hair done 3 times. It was worth it.
The reception went off without major flaw and so many people stepped up so that I didn't have to worry about anything. Thanks to Jenny, Robin, Tori, Karla and Brittany, among others.
By the way, aren't we adorable together? And Diego's picture by himself, who wouldn't want to marry this man?! Seriously!
