I am now certified to deal your drugs

I have studied (something I hate to do) and am now qualified to count your pills at the pharmacy. I never knew how much math was involved with pharmacy. Well, I learned algebra again and I am completely versed in ratio and proportion! The best part is that I make a dollar more an hour now! YEAH! For part-time work, I don't do so bad.

U2 in 3D

I don't know if this is still playing at the IMAX but it was WAY cool and WAY worth it even if you just kind of like their music. It was all the best parts of going to a concert with an even better view but you didn't have to deal with the expensive tickets, standing the whole time, the smelly guy next to you or somebody spilling their beer on you. I highly recommend!

Princesa

Many of you know that Diego and I attend a Spanish speaking branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It isn't because he doesn't speak English or that I speak Spanish for that matter. It's just where we feel like we are supposed to be. I have done many things in my life based on this "feeling" or as I like to think if it, being guided by the Spirit. Heck, the Spirit is what brought me to Arizona (for no seeming good reason) only to meet my awesome husband the next day. Needless to say, I trust the Spirit. Anyway. I digress. The Relief Society (or women's organization) of this Spanish branch had an activity. My plaque says, "Princess. Daughter of a Heavenly King." BTW, I bore my testimony in Spanish this past Sunday. Well, it was only a few sentences long and Diego was standing by my side (like I was a primary kid) in case I forgot a word. When he started to feed me lines, I pushed him away and everyone laughed. I wanted to do it myself! I was very proud of myself...

Mmmm, King Cake

My family sent me a king cake for Mardi Gras. I, of course, forgot to take a picture of it so I stole this one from the internet. Diego had never had king cake and he LOVED it! It's basically just a sweet bread. Go here if you want to read more about the history but basically it represents when the 3 Wise Men came searching for the Baby Jesus on Jan 6th. I especially liked the school traditions. We would have king cake in school all season long!

LA, baby!

It was only the 2nd week into the new year and we took another trip - this time, to my dismay, it was to Los Angeles. I don't really like LA and I was so not fond of the drive time but we tried to make it fun by spending the night in Fresno with some of Diego's friends. We also went to Mann's Chinese Theater to see all the stars on the sidewalk of Hollywood Blvd and the foot/hand prints in the cement in front of the theater. It was raining and cold so no good pictures. We also drove up to the Hollywood sign but the clouds hung so low that we couldn't see it. Of course, we didn't know that until we went back the next day and it was in plain sight! We visited the Argentine supermarket and had a picnic, of sorts, looking at the sign. I can't believe people live up there! Anyway.
The only reason we went was to go to the Argentine consulate to get Diego's passport renewed. Once that was done, WE GOT OUR TICKETS TO ARGENTINA the very next day! 3 weeks in July, baby!

New Years in Flagstaff

So Diego was missing the cold and the snow so we decided to spend the night in Flagstaff over New Years. There wasn't really any "new" snow, but it sure was COLD! The next day we drove over to the Petrified National Forest. It's kind of interesting to think about just how long this stuff sat under water especially for it to be a desert now. And what amazed me even more is that it still looks like wood on the outside!
We also got to see some petroglyphs left by this ancient civilization. I feel like I sound really uneducated right now and I could just remedy that by looking up the information but I'm too lazy so here is the link to National Park Service's page.
The top is a long view and the bottom is a close up of the image above.

Activate in the form of...

I'm a REAL LIVE SUPER HERO! And I've to the caricature to prove it. One of the photographers I work for has included me in his set of photographers and therefore had be immortalized in sketch. Whadaya think? I kinda have problems with it cause it was created from a wedding photo with my hair all pinned up and my hair is never like that. Still, it is funny!
